Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data we collect when you use beawareofme.com, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what rights you have over it. We've written it in plain language on purpose — if something is still unclear, email us.
Last updated: May 29, 2026
The short version
A plain-English summary. It doesn't replace the full policy, but it's the gist.
- We collect your email if you subscribe or buy something, basic analytics about how the site is used, and cookie data for ads and functionality.
- We never sell your personal data. Third-party tools like Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Meta may collect data through cookies — we name every one below and link to their policies.
- Payments are handled by a third-party processor; we never see or store your card number.
- If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under the GDPR — access, correction, deletion, and more.
- If you're in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA — including the right to know and delete.
- You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. You can manage or opt out of cookies through your browser or the links we provide.
Now the formal version below.
Section 01
Who we are
beawareofme.com ("beawareofme," "we," "us," or "our") is a digital publication and online store focused on mental health, wellness, and personal development. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.
If you have questions about your data or this policy, contact us at contact@beawareofme.com.
Section 02
What data we collect
We collect data in three ways: information you give us directly, information collected automatically, and information from third-party tools.
Information you provide
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter ("Mental Health Starter Kit" opt-in) or make a purchase.
- Name — if provided through a contact form or purchase.
- Contact form messages — the content of any message you send us.
- Purchase details — which product you bought, the date, and the amount. Payment card details are handled entirely by our third-party payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referral source, clicks — collected via Google Analytics.
- Device & browser data — IP address (anonymized where required), browser type, operating system, screen size.
- Cookie data — see Section 05 for details.
Information from third parties
- Advertising data — Google AdSense may collect data about your browsing to serve relevant ads (see Section 05).
- Social interaction data — if you interact with our content through Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Meta may share limited data with us such as page interactions.
Section 03
How we use your data
We use personal data only for the purposes listed here:
- To deliver digital products you purchase and provide technical support.
- To send our newsletter and the Mental Health Starter Kit to subscribers who have opted in.
- To respond to your messages sent through the contact form or email.
- To understand how the site is used (analytics) so we can improve content and performance.
- To display relevant advertising through Google AdSense.
- To prevent fraud and protect the security of the Site.
- To comply with legal obligations (e.g., keeping purchase records for tax purposes).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.
Section 04
Lawful basis for processing (GDPR)
If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK, we process your data under the following lawful bases from Article 6(1) of the GDPR:
| Purpose | Lawful basis | GDPR Article |
|---|---|---|
| Delivering products you purchased | Performance of a contract | Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Sending the newsletter / Starter Kit | Your consent (opt-in) | Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Responding to contact-form messages | Your consent / legitimate interest | Art. 6(1)(a) / (f) |
| Site analytics (Google Analytics) | Legitimate interest (improving content) | Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Displaying ads (Google AdSense) | Your consent (cookie consent) | Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Fraud prevention & site security | Legitimate interest | Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Tax & legal record-keeping | Legal obligation | Art. 6(1)(c) |
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have balanced it against your rights and determined that our interest does not override your fundamental rights. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time — see Section 09.

Section 08
International data transfers
Some of our third-party providers are based outside the EU/EEA (notably in the United States). When your data is transferred to a country without an EU adequacy decision, we rely on one or more of the following safeguards:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission;
- EU–US Data Privacy Framework certification, where the provider participates;
- Any other lawful transfer mechanism recognized under the GDPR.
By using the Site, you acknowledge that data may be processed outside your home country with these protections in place.
Section 09
Your rights under the GDPR (EU, EEA & UK)
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent — if processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time (e.g., unsubscribing from the newsletter). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any right, email contact@beawareofme.com. We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot comply or need an extension, we'll explain why. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (data protection authority).
Section 10
Your rights under the CCPA & CPRA (California)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know — request what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, or sold in the prior 12 months.
- Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — you may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (see below).
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Do we sell your data? We do not sell personal information as traditionally defined. However, our use of cookies from Google AdSense and Meta may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out by adjusting your cookie settings, using aboutads.info, or enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.
To exercise your rights, email contact@beawareofme.com with the subject "CCPA Request." We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days.
Section 11
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 16 (or under 13, where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Section 12
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data — including SSL/TLS encryption, secure hosting, strong passwords, and limited access. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Section 13
Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond, and we do not currently change our practices in response to DNT signals.
We do recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of "sharing" under the CPRA for California residents. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Section 14
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes take effect when posted. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
